Description
Handwritten letter from Aloysius O'Kelly to James Herbert, also including an envelope. O'Kelly mentions that he has received his spectacles. Describes Holycross where he has been living for 7 weeks. O’Kelly notes too that he has shown the paintings from Cashel to both the Protestant and the Catholic deans and they were interested in purchasing them. He intends to keep the originals and make copies from them to sell. He describes the simplicity of life in Holycross; the lack of toilets, the local diet, and the people. He also mentions that he is nervous about spending a winter in such rustic accommodation, and asks to be remembered to Henry Spelane, Mr. Harris and all his friends.
