Description
Handwritten note in which Orpen discusses bills, the children, and submission of a painting, Le Chef de l'Hôtel Chatham, Paris, to the Royal Academy as his diploma work. Acquaintances referenced include 'Aikman', and 'Williams & Norgate', his London publishers. Note is accompanied by an envelope addressed to Lady Orpen in Chelsea, and postmarked as 13 May 1921, from Paris, France. [Le Chef was accepted by the RA in 1921]
