Description
Includes a brief biography for William Orpen, as well as a biographical note for two other individuals also being recognised with commemorative stamps in 1978. These include Catherine McAuley who founded the Mercy Order of Nuns (stamp designed by Robert Ballagh), and Dr. Edward Jenner who first vaccinated a child against smallpox (stamp designed by Raymond Kyne). Card is accompanied by an envelope addressed to Mrs. K. Orpen Casey, Suffolk, United Kingdom, daughter of William Orpen, and includes two unused commemorative stamps.
