Description
Handwritten copy of Hugh Lane's codicil to his will created originally 13 February 1915. Lane states that if a building was procured for a Modern Art Gallery within 5 years after his death, then his pictures in the National Gallery in London and Belfast should be permanently settled in there. Lady Gregory [aunt of Hugh Lane] will be the Trustee and Thomas Bodkin will obtain the gallery.
