Description
Illustrated storybook created by Jack Butler Yeats and given to his sister Lily Yeats (Susan Mary Yeats) in the summer of 1885. Includes 8 illustrated pages (including cover) and a manuscript dedication page on inside front cover. Includes a watercolour depiction of the central character, the Pasha, a middle eastern male figure with long beard, turban and scimitar, on front cover. Remaining illustrations in ink. Action centres on the household of the Pasha and includes the dismissal of a servant and the destruction by the Pasha of a portrait of himself.
