Illustrated letter from William Orpen to Grace Orpen concerning the Lawson, and Goodbody portraits

Description
Handwritten letter on headed paper, addressed from the Metropolitan School of Art, Dublin, in which Orpen writes of nearing completion on the 'Lawson' portrait, and undertaking work on the 'Goodbody' and 'Townsend' paintings. Orpen also comments on relations with the new headmaster at the Metropolitan school, writing that 'he won't speak to me on the subject now at all, thinks it beneath him, he and [ally] are working out their own game which hurts me very much, Mossy is the only person who has seen through it...' Letter includes a pen sketch of the headmaster, in his academic attire.
