Description
Handwritten letter on headed paper, addressed from the Metropolitan School of Art, Dublin, in which Orpen comments that the 'old Bishop's picture got a bit better today.' He also offers news of Brother Richard and Brother Charlie [Metropolitan School of Art colleagues], and speaks of a weekend trip to Clonsilla. Letter concludes with a pen sketch of 'how No.13 is looking at the present moment...' [shows two painters at work on the house front, as a woman and child stand on the street outside. There is a small pencil inscription on the upper left corner which reads as Rev. Father Browne, St. Mary's, Chippenham, Wilts. [No. 13 may refer to Orpen's family residence in 13 Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea, London SW]
