Description
Handwritten letter marked as being from Oriel, Blackrock, County Dublin, in which Orpen relates his happiness at how his portrait of 'Lawson' is progressing. He also mentions that a painting has been sold at the Royal Hibernian Academy but he has not been told the identity of the buyer. He thinks it could be Brooke, [Iveagh], or St. George. Letter is accompanied by an envelope addressed to Mrs. William Orpen, 13 Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea, London, and postmarked as 28 April 1907.
