Handwritten description entitled by Orpen as 'A Short Journey Across the Channel.' He describes rising early and dressing, taking the train from Victoria Station to Dover, and mentions the friends he encounters along the way. Letter is accompanied by an envelope addressed to Mrs William Orpen at Sea View, Bath Road, East Cliff, Bournemouth, United Kingdom, and is postmarked as 13 December 1906.
