Description
Handwritten letter in which Orpen references his work on two portraits, one for [Mahaffy] and one for McDonnell, mentions that he has seen George Brooke in the street, and speaks of 'Richard's' popularity in Dublin, writing that he [Richard Shepherd Fletcher?] is 'quite the person', and suggesting that he become an M.P. rather than an art school teacher where the 'gift of gab is not much needed.' Letter includes a pen sketch on the reverse of Orpen being blown through the air over Dublin in strong winds
