Description
Handwritten letter on headed paper, addressed from Glyde Court, Ardee, County Louth, in which Orpen relates news of the family, writing that 'Lady Foster's father and her sisters and two of Sir Vere's sisters are staying here - all dull…' He also mentions an upcoming horse show, and notes that he has heard from his mother to say that Mrs . Goodbody is pleased with her portrait. Letter concludes with Orpen writing that 'I've had a terrible afternoon painting the cheques [sic] on Sir Vere's breeches, I can't see anything but black and white squares now...'
