William John Leech (1881 - 1968)
Description
Collection contains two gifts, the first a letter from William John Leech to Walter Hay and the second contains letters between Patrick J Murphy, Leech and Alan Denson. Leech was an Irish painter who was known for his portraits and landscapes in vivid colours. He spent time in Breton (Hôtel des Voyageurs in Concarneau) with contemporaries such as Aloysius O'Kelly and John Lavery. He exhibited in the RHA, RA and New English Club in London.
