Description
Collection contains material relating to Leo Whelan's professional and personal lives including correspondence, inventories of his work, interview transcripts, photographs, magazine and press clippings, and other ephemera. Also included are documents relating to a car accident in which Whelan was injured and his ensuing lawsuit against Dorothy Countess Beatty in 1948-1949, as well as documents relating to the settling of his estate by his sisters after his death in 1956. Collection also contains two scrapbooks of press cuttings and photographs compiled by Whelan relating to his work as an artist.
