Bernard Mulrenin's Correspondence
Description
Collection contains twenty-seven copies of typescript transcribed correspondence between the artist Bernard Mulrenin and his wife Mary Mulrenin (née Quill) during their courtship, and the early years of their marriage. The original letters are part of the Maurice Lenihan collection in the Burns Library at Boston College. Collection also contains three letters between Alf MacLochlainn (former Director of the National Library of Ireland, later Visiting Chair in Irish Studies at Boston College) and National Gallery of Ireland Librarian Ann Stewart concerning the acquisition of the Mulrenin transcripts by the Gallery library.
