Letter of thanks from Eithne Carr to art critic Desmond MacAvock
Description
Handwritten letter in which Carr thanks MacAvock for contributing an essay to her 'Gloryscapes' exhibition catalogue. She writes that 'the phrase 'hymns to creation' blotted everything else out for me -because if ever anyone can ever think of one of my paintings as such, that is more than enough justification and praise for me. It makes all the hard work, all the failures, all the sheer slogging, of keeping going, of keeping at it, worthwhile. So thank you, just thank you.' Letter includes Christmas and New Year wishes, and a notice of a gift of wine and a book.
