Description
A covered notebook containing a handwritten diary detailing a trip made by Burton to Italy to view paintings in May 1864 (3pp). Included are three small sketches amongst Burton's notes showing details of the paintings he saw. At the back of the notebook there are 92 pages of roughly written notes pertaining to Newton's "Travels and Discoveries in the Levant" which appear to be [in preparation for a lecture]. Many pages are crossed out.
