Description
Handwritten letter addressed from 65 Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin, in which O'Brien congratulates Webb on her engagement and apologises for having not contacted her sooner. He expresses his regret that she might choose to 'abandon the serious occupation of painting for the mere frivolity of marriage'. O'Brien encourages Webb to keep drawing and painting as she will find it a 'great boon' and a good alternative to 'gossip & scandal.' He includes a cheque so that she might buy something useful [cheque not enclosed].
