Collection contains letters from John Butler Yeats to Ruth Hart wherein he discusses his life in New York city, his observations of American culture and his career as an artist and lecturer. Yeats lived in New York from 1907 till his death in 1922. Hart lived in Howth, and she and her family had hosted Yeats when he lived in Ireland before his move to America.
