Description
Photographs of paintings by numerous Italian artists including the Gennari family. All of the prints were produced by the Croci photography studio and many have "Photo Croci" written on the verso, along with other annotations. Most of the paintings were found in various locations in Cento, Italy, including; the Madonna del Rosario, Corpo di Reno, Pinacoteca, Cento, the Church of St Sebastian and St Rocco, San Biagio and San Filippo Neri, Cento. Paintings include, by Benedetto Gennari; "St Domenicus and St Jerome," "St George" and "Saints Francis, Anthony of Padua, and Agnes, with the Madonna and Child, granting the Monastic Robe to St Clair." Includes, by Benedetto Gennari II; "St Theresa and St Apollonia" and "Martyrdom of St Catherine." Also contains "Martyrdom of Saint Catherine" and "Santo Colla Croce" by Cesare Gennari and two versions of "Various Saints" by Ercole Gennari. There are two paintings by Guercino represented, namely, "Dopo il Bauchetto" and "Village Festival." Paintings by other artists include; "San Filippo Neri," by Giuseppe Maria Ficatelli, "Guardian Angel," by Matteo Loves, "Beheading of St John" by Giovanni Battista Venanzi, "Jesus in the Garden" by Stefano Provenzali" and "Deposizione della Croce" by Cremonini.
