Description
Photographs of paintings by Guercino paintings found abroad. Many of the prints contain annotations on the verso, with some also containing stamps and photographer information such as "W. Earl Burnell, Photographer, Sarasota, Florida," "Kunstgesch Seminar Marburg," "Gemälde-Sammlung der Stadt Mainz," "Museum Przemystowe, Cracow," "Photograph by the Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, Ohio, USA" and "A.C. Cooper." The photographs in this file are of artworks that were found in various collections both private and institutional, in an array of cities, including; Zurich, the Ringling Museum, Sarasota, Florida, Krakow Cathedral, the Royal Palace, Bucharest, the Museo del Prado, Madrid, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Sotheby Heseltine Sale of 1935, and the collections of Dudley P. Allen and John Davis Hatch. Paintings in this file include; "The Annunciation," "Crucifixion with San Francesca Romana and Saint Elizabeth of Hungary," "Saint Francis and an Angel," "St Anthony of Padua Embracing the Infant Christ," "Saint Benedict and Saint Francis listening to a Musician Angel," "San Pedro, Libertado por un Angel," "San Augustin meditando sobre la Trinidad," "The Toilet of Venus" and "Christ and the Woman of Samaria."
