Description
Includes photographs of paintings by Annibale Carracci considered for the Carracci Exhibition "Mostra dei Carracci", 6 September - 31 October 1956, Palazzo dell'Archiginnasio, Bologna. Also contains works by Ludovico Carracci, along with handwritten notes. There are annotations on many of the prints, as well as stamps from photography studios and insitutions including A. Villani, Bologna, Ministry of Works, London and Archives Photographes, Caisse Nationale Des Monuments Historique, Grand Palais, Paris. Some of the artworks in this file are from collections held in the Chiesa di San Gregario, Bologna. Paintings represented in this file include; "Butcher's Shop," "Crucifixion with Saints," "Festa del Villaggio," "The Beaneater," "Vision of St Eustace," "Portrait of a Man with a Monkey," "Scena Campestre," "Portrait of Giacomo Filippo Turrini" and "Elemosina di San Rocco."
