Description
Four envelopes containing photographs of Guercino paintings, many having been shown at British exhibitions or held by British museums. Envelope 1: Cooper photographs after Braun prints; Envelope 2: Italian Exhibition, London 1930; Envelope 3: Cooper photographs after Witt Library items; Envelope 4: Cooper photographs after engravings. Many of the prints contain annotations on the verso, along with the A.C. Cooper photography studio stamp. Paintings found in this file represent collections, exhibitions and institutions including; the Galerie Sambon, the Italian Exhibition in London, 1930, R.E.A. Wilson Exhibition in November 1933, the Sloane Collection and the Carcherode Collection in the British Museum, the Albertina Museum, Vienna and the Witt Collection at the Courtauld Institute. Paintings contained include "The Presentation de Jesus au Temple."
