File containing four annotated envelopes, "Chatsworth," "Jean Pesne," "Mattioli" and "Budapest Forgeries," each containing photographs of drawings. In "Chatsworth" there are various landscape drawings by Guercino, each having been stamped by the Courtauld Institute of Art and annotated with a catalogue number on the verso. Represented in "Jean Pesne" are photographs of engravings of landscapes after Guercino by Pesne, many of which have been annotated on the verso."Mattioli" contains engravings by Ludovico Mattioli, also after Guercino. The prints have been heavily annotated on the verso. "Budapest Forgeries" also contains prints of landscapes after Guercino, which have been annotated with catalogue numbers on the verso, as well as a handwritten note with the catalogue numbers. They were found in the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest. File also includes correspondence between Sir Denis Mahon and Professor Giuseppe Maria Pilo, from the Accademia dei Concordi, Rovigo. The correspondence, in both Italian and English, refers to engravings by Jean Pesne, after Guercino, which were listed in inventory of Casa Gennari. Also mentioned is the possibility of Mahon and Pilo meeting to further discuss the details.
