Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 2nd August 1894 in which the following was discussed: eleven pictures submitted for purchase by the Director and accepted. These are listed with prices. The board declined to accept a photograph of a portrait of Sir John Doyle offered by Mrs Mollam as the board only accept photographs in 'very exceptional circumstances'. Discussion of procuring a pension for retired Registrar Mr Kennedy. It is proposed to place an age limit on new appointments of the Registrar to between 25 - 45 years. The report for the year 1893 was presented. 73,366 visitors noted. List of all purchases, donations, and loans presented. The importance of the extension to the Gallery was emphasised.
