Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 14th April 1978 in which the following was discussed: the Director reported that the installation of frescoes in the Gallery was nearing completion. The Director gave an update on the status of particular loans. Mr E.A. McGuire and Mr Terence De Vere White were re-appointed as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively. "The Incredulity of St. Thomas" by Orazio de Ferrari was approved for purchase [NGI 4302]. A gift of a collection of 350 art books, periodicals etc formerly belonging to the late Mr Dermod O'Brien was accepted with thanks. Six loan requests were granted. A concert request from the Alliance Francaise was granted, as well as a reception requested by the French Society of Ireland. An Taisce were given permission to hold their annual meeting in the lecture theatre. Mrs Muriel Brandt was re-appointed judge of the Taylor Art Competition. The Shaw Fund and the Lane Fund were discussed.
