Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 10th February 1978 in which the following was discussed: two new board members were welcomed, Professor John Carroll, President of the Royal Dublin Society, and Mr David Hone, President of the Royal Hibernian Society. A portrait of Caroline Scally by James Sleator was approved for purchase [NGI 4301], as well as a portrait of a young woman by William Watson [NGI 4300]. A gift of 3 sketches relating to the Vere Foster Group were accepted. Two loans requests were sanctioned. The board gave permission for a Garstin Exhibition to take place in the Gallery. Three reception requests were also granted. The Director's annual report was submitted and approved to be read at a press conference. The Shaw Fund and the Lane Fund were discussed.
