Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 11th February 1977 in which the following was discussed: Mr James Culligan was appointed to the board, and Mr Serge Philipson was re-appointed. More information was discussed regarding Malahide Castle, and the Board of Works informed the board that its maintenance workers were to go on strike, meaning that the Gallery would be without heat. "Portrait of a Gentleman and Boy in a Library" by Robert Hunter was approved for purchase [NGI 4191]. A gift of five views of Dublin in pen and watercolour by Flora H. Mitchell was accepted [NGI 3075-3078]. The board agreed to loan a picture to the National Maritime Museum. Five requests for functions to be held in the Gallery were granted. Two concerts held by the Italian Cultural Institute were authorised to occur in the Gallery. The Director's annual report was read and approved. The Shaw Fund and the Lane Fund were discussed.
