Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 10th October 1975 in which the following was discussed: the Director reported on his recent visit to Russia. The following purchases were approved; "Rye Water, near Leixlip" by William Davis [NGI 4129], four gouaches by Thomas Walmsley, and "The Entry of the Queen to Dublin" by Percy French. The following gifts were accepted; a relief of John Redmond by Michael Lawlor, an oil painting of O'Connell Street, Dublin, attributed to George Petrie [NGI 4130], a collection of sketches and other memorabilia by Harry Kernoff [NGI 3072-3194], a book "The Portraits of the most Eminent Painters" by Captain J.M. McGlinchey [Previously NGI 20667]. A loan request from the Cork ROSC Committee was granted. Two requests for functions were granted, along with three requests for concerts and two for lectures. The Royal Hibernian Academy was given permission to hold their annual exhibition in the Gallery. The Shaw Fund and the Lane Fund were discussed.
