Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 14th February 1975 in which the following was discussed: the Director had visited Brussels and instructed a restorer there to finish working on a painting which the previous restorer to the Gallery, Mr Moss had left unfinished. The following were approved for purchase; "Children Dancing at a Crossroads" by Trevor Thomas Fowler [NGI 4122], a pastel portrait of William Millbank by Hugh Douglas Hamilton, and "Tete du Chien, Monaco, Winter Sunset" by Richard Whately West [NGI 4123]. The following gifts were accepted; a portrait of Peig Sayers by Harry Kernoff, an abstract painting by Mainie Jellet, a drawing of Francis MacGonigal by Harry Clarke, and a drawing of a girls head by Margaret Clarke. Tow loan requests were approved. The Director's annual report was submitted and approved. Four requests for functions were sanctioned, along with three requests for concerts and two requests for lectures. The Old Dublin Society was given permission to have a painting restored, along with the restoration of wooden statues for the Bishop of Clonfert. The Shaw Fund and the Lane Fund were discussed.
