Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 14th December 1973 in which the following was discussed: as a result of the previous meeting, the Director had received signed statments from all restorers in the Gallery stating that no private work would be carried out in the Gallery. Three oil paintings by A.E. (George Russell), were accepted with thanks [NGI 4071-4073]. Two miniatures were approved for purchase, one of Colonel William Lane, and one of Mrs Busby, along with "Landscape at Tivoli" by Nathaniel Grogan [NGI 4074]. Twenty pictures from the collection of Sir Alfred Beit were offered on loan to the Gallery and accepted. Three requests for loans were sanctioned. Two functions and two concerts were given permission to be held in the Gallery. It was agreed to establish a sub-committee to deal with staffing of the Gallery. The Shaw Fund and the Lane Fund were discussed.
