Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 4th December 1970 in which the following was discussed: Miss E. McCarthy was appointed as the new Registrar. The portrait of General Liam Lynch was offered to the National Museum on loan. Mr Wayne was appointed as senior assistant and Mr Moss as Restorer, and it was suggested to appoint an additional Restorer. A sketch book by William Howis was approved for purchase, as well as two paintings from the German school. "Regal Duck" by Kenneth Noland was accepted as a gift. The board decided to accept eight paintings on loan from Mrs McGuinness. A portrait of John McCormack by Sean O'Sullivan was authorised to be lent to the National Portrait Gallery in Washington. The Children's Art Holiday was to be held in December. A request from the Minister for Education for a tour and dinner to be held in the Gallery was granted. The Shaw Fund and the Lane Fund were discussed.
