Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 3rd October 1969 in which the following was discussed: the Drummond Bequest was discussed. It was agreed that the Gallery would no longer pruchase Irish prints without consulting the National Library. Three receptions were permitted to be held in the Gallery. The board decided to accept the following gifts; portraits of Father O'Flanagan and Art O'Murnaghan by Estella Solomons [NGI 1920-1921], a portrait of Master Connor Padilla by Grace Henry [NGI 1922], drawing of a man, artist unknown and a portrait of Sir John Lavery by Hazel Lavery [NGI 7311]. The board accepted the bequest of a portrait of Anna Maria Darby [NGI 1923]. The following were approved for purchase; a copy of a Poussin painting by James Barry [NGI 1924], a terra cotta bust of Sir Watkins Williams [NGI 8063], and 50 drawings of vanishing Dublin by Flora Mitchell [NGI 7261-7310, NGI 19000]. The estimates for 1970-71 were submitted and approved. Discussion on the Shaw Fund and the Lane Fund. The caterers of the Gallery sought to obtain a spirit license.
