Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 7th April 1967 in which the following was discussed: a vote of sympathy was passed on the death of former Director, Dr Thomas MacGreevy. Mr E.A. McGuire and Mr T. De Vere White were reappointed as Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively. The board discussed their lending policy and regulations for Gallery attendants. Receptions to be held in the Gallery were also discussed. Sir Alfred Beit was appointed to the board. The board opted to sanction two loan requests, and accepted a bequest from Lady Helen Fitzgerald of two paintings. A picture by Peter Lely was accepted as a gift. The board approved the following items for purchase; a landscape by Herbert Pugh [NGI 1819], "The Rehearsal" by W. Osborne [NGI 1818], and a carved wooden plinth. A report was heard on the progress of the new wing. Discussion was held regarding the Shaw Fund and the Lane Fund. A separate leaflet contained alongside the minute book contained a new lending policy for works of art from The National Gallery, dated as being approved during this meeting.
