Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 7th July 1961 in which the following was discussed: the Director reported on the inspection of three pictures from the bequest of the late Professor Dowling, the Director declined two pictures but accepted 'the smaller Craig'. The Chairman and vice-Chairman reported on their deputation to the Minister. Discussion about the new role of assistant - no appointment to the role as advertised to be made. It was decided to accept two portraits of her mother by John Butler Yeats from Mrs M L Caughey Guest of Cincinnati. It was agreed to lend "Portrait of a Lady" by Goya [NGI 572?] to the Institute of France. Further brief discussion of the Shaw and Lane Funds.
