Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 7th December 1960 in which the following was discussed: Lord Longford confirmed as a member of the board for another five years. It was decided to accept two engravings, one of 'Blessed Oliver Plunkett' [NGI 10105] and one of the Reverend Thomas Campbell [NGI 10299] offered by Mrs Moorhead. It was decided to accept "Many Ferries" [NGI 1550] and "Galway Point to Point" by Jack B Yeats bequeathed by Julia M Egan. It was decided to accept "Canal Lough House" by Caroline Scally [NGI 1552] and the "Black Bottle" by Maurice McGonigal [NGI 1551] presented by the Haverty Trust. Discussion on the appointment of a night-watchman and the continued nightly visit of 'the fire picket'. Further discussion on the Shaw Fund. Detailed breakdown of receipts and payments from the Lane Fund from 1954 to 1959 over three pages followed by a list of the assets of the Lane Fund on the date 30th November 1960.
