Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 3rd February 1960 in which the following was discussed: it was agreed to purchase "Woman at Prayer" by Toulouse-Lautrec from Sotheby's 'if the seller agreed the reduction of £1000'. It was decided to purchase the picture "Weep Not the Child in Paradise" by Greuze [NGI 1420] for a sum 'not exceeding £700' from Mrs E Barrington. It was decided to accept seven letters from Martin Cregan from various important figures. Discussion on pensions for the department staff. Further discussion on the Shaw Fund.
