Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 3rd July 1964 in which the following was discussed: the plaster cast of Madonna and Child by A. O'Connor was deemed to not be suitable for the Gallery. A gift of a portrait of Thomas J. Mulvany by George F. Mulvany was accepted [NGI 1764]. The purchase of a mezzotint by Jonathan Fisher was approved [NGI 11549]. The Shaw Fund and the Lane Fund were discussed. Madame Kasteel offered the Gallery the loan of a picture by Metsu for at least three years, which the board accepted. Statements were read regarding certain policies of the Gallery, such as payment by cheques, the filing system, five day weeks, and lecturers. Mr White was congratulated on the work he had done since taking up the office of Director.
