Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 1st February 1956 in which the following was discussed: "L'Occupation Selon L'Age" by Jean-Antoine Watteau [NGI 1321] was offered for purchase for £2500. It was declined on the basis that seller Mr L Mansfield 'might offer again'. The Friends of the Irish National Collections offered three pictures as gifts. Four requests for loans were considered. "The Flagellation of Christ" by Hieronymus Bosch [NGI 1320] was purchased from Monsignor Shine for £2500.
