Minutes of board meeting held on 6th October 1954 in which the following was discussed: the Director reported he had seen a Portrait by Haverty which Miss A Grennon intended to bequeath [NGI 1304?]. The offer from Chester Beatty of pictures by Ziem [NGI 1291], Detaille [NGI 1292], Iunes, and Dod Procter [NGI 1294] was gratefully accepted. The offer of a picture to purchase from Eithne McCarthy - a Portrait of Denis Florence McCarthy (1817-1882), Poet [NGI 1295] for 10 guineas was accepted. |
