Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 5th June 1935 in which the following was discussed: 14 applications for the role of Director noted, including that of George Furlong. Shortlist of three chosen including the one woman applicant, a Madamoiselle Francoise Henry. An amendment by Sir Robert Woods and Mr O'Brien remove Mdme Henry from the list. Amendment carried by 5 votes to 4. An amendment to appoint Dr Furlong rejected by a show of hands. The Ordinance Survey Office submitted a series of publications to be used for postcards - the board expressed 'dissatisfaction with these reproductions'. Correspondence read from the Department of Education relating to a request for an allowance for the Registrar/acting Director. The Department refuse the board's request.
