Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 4th July 1928 in which the following was discussed: the Rt. Hon. Lord Cloncurry was appointed judge of the Taylor Art Scholarship for 1929. Correspondence between the Gallery and the Gaelic League was brought before the board, and the Director stated he was taking steps to have the directive notices in the Gallery inscribed in both Irish and English. The Gallery would be closed for cleaning in November. The Director proposed having an exhibition in the Gallery of its acquisitions in the year 1927-1928, which was approved. The Director was notified that he was at liberty to return pictures that were still on loan to the Gallery from English institutions. Final proofs of the new Gallery catalogue were submitted. A list of pictures that were submitted for purchase but declined. The Director reported on the Lane Fund.
