Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 25th January 1928 in which the following was discussed: the Director's report for 1927 was submitted and approved. Mr Dermod O'Brien and Sir Philip Hanson were appointed auditors of the Lane Fund. Byelaw 16 was amended. A "Portrait of Sir Anthony Malone" was declined for purchase. "The Farm Cart" by Jan Siberechts, was purchased from Captain Langton Douglas [NGI 900]. The Director was instructed to continue his enquiries into a possible bequest from William Wallace Anderson. The Director notified the board that it was Sir John Lavery's intention to donate pictures of interest to the Gallery under certain conditions, which the board approved of. A bronze model of the figure of Africa in the Fountain of the Four Continents was declined. The credit of the Lane Fund was also mentioned.
