Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 19th November 1930 in which the following was discussed: the Director submitted plans for an exhibition of the years acquisitions in the Gallery on Saturday 29th November. A letter was read from the Department of Finance discussing the purchase of the Death Mask of the late Kevin O'Higgins [NGI 8046?] for £200. The board approved. The Director submitted for inspection two pictures, a portrait of Emma Burke by Joshua Reynolds and one of Thomas Drummond by Henry William Pickersgill [NGI 409], these were bequeathed by Miss Emily Drummond. The Director submitted several pictures for inspection and/or purchase. The Minister of Education and the Earl of Longford [served on NGI board 1930 to 1956] were reappointed and appointed to the board.
