Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 2nd April 1930 in which the following was discussed: a letter from George Alfred Jones was read offering the water colour of "The Dublin International Exhibition Building, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin" by Alfred Gresham Jones [NGI 3870] under two conditions. It was accepted. The picture "Bather's Surprised" by William Mulready [NGI 611] was purchased from Christie and Manson's for £11.11.0. A picture 'formerly attributed to van Eyck' was inspected after its reconditioning. Discussion about the discovery of a picture in the Metropolitan School of Art and 'attributed' to Romney. The board are not prepared to restore or repair said picture. Discussion about the loan to Mr Turton of underutilised items from the Milltown Collection in 1914. The board reported no record could be found of what was loaned. An investigation was made in Russborough House by the Director. The Director presents a list of his findings under the titles 'Pictures', 'Sculptures and Bronzes', 'Furniture', 'Silver'. The balance of Lane Fund reported to be £1295.8.8.
