Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 18th July 1923 in which the following was discussed: the board conveyed their thanks to Captain Langton Douglas for the picture he had donated during the last meeting. It was agreed that until a new Director was appointed, the Rt. Hon. Jonathan M. Hogg [served on NGI board 1897 to 1928], Lucius O'Callaghan [on NGI board from 1917], Sir Philip H. Hanson [on NGI board from 1921] and Mr James Stephen should sign all necessary documents and cheques relating to the business of the Gallery. Payment was arranged for the picture "Pieta" by Santacroce and the minatures of Charles and Mary Broderick. The board inspected a collection of pictures sent in by Mr Edward Martyn.
