Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 7th August 1912 in which the following was discussed: a letter from Lady Milltown was read offering more pictures and items to the Gallery. A letter was drafted to request an examination of the proposed offering. There is a list of recent bequests. A list of five purchases with prices submitted. List of two pictures offered to the Gallery with prices considered; a portrait of Sir John Parnell [NGI 660] for £50 and the "Entry of George IV into Dublin" attributed to Haverty for £100. Director instructed to offer £25 for first a decline second. It was decided to abolish the charge of six pence for 'those who are not students' and that the hours of opening should be from 10 to 5 on all days.
