Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 5th April 1922 in which the following was discussed: the Director's report for the year was submitted to the board. The balance sheet of the Lane fund was read and returned to auditors. The Auditors Report for the fund was also read. Certain collections in the Gallery, especially the French School, were reported as having deficiencies so it was agreed to try and purchase items that would enhance these collections as opportunities occurred. Mr Bodkin was appointed as judge for the Taylor Art Competition. Pictures offered to the Gallery in the will of the late Mrs M.J. Martin were refused. A miniature of Lady Hotham was approved for purchase if it could be obtained at a lower price. It was decided that keys to the corporate seal that were unclaimed by members of the board should be held in the Bank of Ireland. Conditions of using money from the Lane fund in the purchase of pictures were read and approved.
