Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 7th December 1921 in which the following was discussed: the provision estimates for the following year were submitted by the Director. The Director also reported that the Lane estate was being wound up and would be complete by the next board meeting. The board agreed to transfer money from the Lane fund from the Bank of England to the Bank of Ireland, affixing their corporate seal to the transfer request. The Chairman reported on the handing over of the Hone pictures from the Executors. "A view of St Patricks Close" by Walter Osbourne was purchased by the Director [NGI 836]. The gift of a death mask of A.M. Sullivan was accepted by the board [NGI 8195]. A portrait of Dr Charles Lucas by Wheatley was rejected by the board. The Director sought permission from the Board to leave Ireland and travel to England and Rome, which was granted reluctantly due to the new byelaws. A formal application was to be made to the Board of Works regarding repairs needing to be done to the Gallery doors.
