Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 5th October 1921 in which the following was discussed: the Director reported that the sale of Lindsay House had been achieved for £9762.10. The Director presented to the board a series of 6 drawings by James Torrence, which the board accepted with thanks. A drawing by Rupert Barber ["William Thompson, a Dublin Beggar, Aged 114" was also accepted [NGI 2726]. The board received a letter from the Public Art Gallery in Belfast asking for the loan of pictures from the recent Hone exhibition, which the board accepted subject to the willingness of the Hone Trustees. A lithograph portrait was rejected for purchase by the board. The Director was instructed to inspect a painting in the possession of Mrs Fitzgerald with the intent of acquiring for the Gallery at no more than £80.
