Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 10th November 1908 in which the following was discussed: portrait of "El Conde del Tajo" by Francisco de Goya [NGI 600] purchased for £975. Several gifts and loans were accepted. Written sideways on p130 - Sir Henry Bellew agreed to leave pictures in the Gallery for at least two years. The Director exhibited a portrait of Swift by Bindon [NGI 598] and 'one of Stella, artist unknown' [Possible Portrait of Esther Johnson ('Stella') NGI 599] offered for sale by the Berwick family. The Director was instructed to purchase them. The Director presented the service costs for the Gallery as £3153. It resolved the future meetings should take place on Wednesday's and that not more than two months should elapse without a meeting.
